Dog Boarding

TRULY BALANCED

Unique Boarding Accommodations

Is Boarding at Truly Balanced Dog Care the right choice for your dog?

We suggest you book your dog for a free daytime visit before reserving an overnight boarding stay. By doing this, we can introduce your dog to the kennel and staff. At the same time, we can determine if we can accommodate your dog’s needs during a boarding stay. All this can be done without the added stress of an overnight boarding stay. During your dog’s initial, daytime visit, we spend time observing behavior while taking note of individual likes, dislikes, and preferences.

Our goal is to provide a positive, individualized boarding experience.

Here is a great article we wrote about Dog Boarding & Doggy Day Care in New Hampshire.

Intact Dogs

Truly Balanced Dog Care does accept intact dogs for day care as well as boarding. Due to how the kennel is run, all dogs can play separately, so we are happy to take intact males as well as females, but not if they are in season.

Small Dogs

Small dogs often prefer indoor play or a one-on-one interaction with a staff member. There is no extra charge for either one. While it is not our practice to put large groups of dogs together, we are often able to find suitable playmates for small dogs to interact with outside, in our fully fenced-in play yard.

Older dogs

Before booking a stay, we would have to meet your dog to assess its physical and mental soundness. A dog’s behavior can vary depending on the environment, and an older dog may be particularly sensitive to changes in its environment, especially if it has not been boarded here before. Therefore, we do not board dogs older than 10 years. Again, our primary concern is always the safety and well-being of your dog and our staff.

Boarding FAQs

Please use the “Book Now” button. You will be redirected to the ProPet Software that we use.

If you are a New Customer, please create an account with us. We cannot book anything until we have proof of Rabies, Distemper/Parvovirus, and Leptospirosis. We will also need a signed Boarding Agreement uploaded to your account. Dogs under 1 year of age must have proof of a negative stool sample, as well as a series of puppy shots.

Boarding Agreement

During peak season (i.e., holidays, school vacations, summertime) payment in full for the entire stay is required one month prior to drop-off.
During non-peak season, payment in full for the entire stay is required one week prior to drop-off.
You will receive an online invoice to your email address which will allow you to process the transaction online in just minutes through your ProPet account. Please note that we cannot guarantee your dog(s) spot(s) without payment.

Of course! We are very proud of our facility and enjoy showing it. However, tours are extremely stressful for the dogs in our care. Therefore, we only allow tours during slower periods, and very rarely on the weekends. If you are planning to board your dog with us over a holiday, school vacation, or busy summer months, please schedule your tour ASAP, and prior to these busy times.
  • Food (required) – see below for more information.
  • Bed/blanket (optional) – each dog is provided an orthopedic cot to sleep on, however you are more than welcome to bring your dog a bed/blanket to sleep on as well.
  • Toys (optional) – If your dog has a specific toy(s) that it likes to play with at home, you may bring them. Please be sure not to bring any toys that cannot be left alone with your dog (stuffed toys, etc.)
  • Other – any other items you would like your dog to have. As an example, many people will wear an old T-shirt for a day or so and leave it here with their dog. The familiar smell can be very comforting.

*Please do not bring bowls with you as we have plenty. Slow feed bowls and raised bowls are an exception.

Yes. Please bring your dog’s food either in its original bag, 1-2 large Ziploc bags, or Tupperware containers, depending on length of stay. Please do not separate each meal individually as this makes it difficult for us to store. Please leave instructions for feeding on a piece of paper or directly on the bag/container. If your dog eats canned food, please bring those.

Please be sure to provide enough food for your dog’s entire stay. It is not a bad idea to provide extra, in case you need to pick your dog up later than originally planned.

Yes, that is no issue. Please bring all necessary ingredients with written instructions. We have a refrigerator and a freezer in the kennel.

Please note that we have set times, but you can both drop-off and pick-up during those times.

Drop-off and Pick-up
Monday – Saturday
8am – 10am and 4pm – 6pm
Sunday
4pm – 6pm ONLY

Remember that we tend to the dogs 24/7, therefore if you show up outside of these hours, it is likely that no one will be in the office.

Administering medications is no issue to us. Therefore, there is no additional fee. Please be sure to bring all medications needed for their stay with written instructions. Again, it’s not a bad idea to bring extra in case you get held up and your dog must stay with us longer. And you can feel safe knowing that Dylan is an experienced veterinary technician.

  • Closed July 4th
  • Closed Thanksgiving Day
  • 8am – 4pm Christmas Eve
  • Closed Christmas Day

Our boarding fee is $48 per dog, per day. This includes unlimited play time, feeding, medicating, etc. – anything your dog needs to be properly cared for.

Of course, please be sure to mention this when booking your dog’s stay. Grooming rates vary and are dependent on your dog’s coat condition and handling requirements.

Yes, the fee is $15 per dog. Please note that there can be an additional fee if your dog is aggressive or extra difficult.

At Truly Balanced Dog Care, all the dogs in our care get individual, personalized attention all day long. This is what makes us different from other boarding facilities. Your dog(s) will be let out into our fenced-in play yard several times throughout the day. We do a rotation of dogs from early in the morning until night. Our goal is to never have an empty play yard. Whether your dog is just going out to the bathroom, going out to hangout, or to play, it will get outside many times throughout the day.

At Truly Balanced Dog Care, we believe safety is of the utmost importance. Therefore, we cannot promise that your dog will interact with other dogs (unless from the same household). We always get to know each dog before we put any of them together. We do accept dog-aggressive dogs that other kennels refuse to take, so it is hard to say whether we will have a good match for your dog at the time of their stay.

Yes, of course. A lot of dogs coming from the same household are more comfortable staying with each other. However, if you would prefer your dogs to be in separate kennels, let us know. They can even board separately but go outside to play together during the day. This is up to you. We do have larger kennels designed for more than one dog.

Truly Balanced Dog Care is located near several well-known and respected veterinarians, as well as two emergency vets. If your dog gets sick or hurt in our care, you will be the first to know. As an experienced veterinary technician, Dylan will assess the situation, then continue in whichever direction you would like, whether that means bringing the dog to your vet, if possible, or one of ours.

The Rabies vaccine, Distemper/Parvovirus (DHPP) vaccine, and Leptospirosis vaccine are required for any dog to stay with us. We do not require the Bordetella (Kennel Cough). It is up to you and your vet if you would like to get it prior to your dog’s stay. Puppies under 1 year of age must show proof of a negative stool sample as well as a series of puppy shots.
